Phase 2 (weeks 6–9)
🚶 Pedestrian access reopens at Barton Road / Kingsway
🚗 Drivers: enter via main Kingsway entrance or the new multistory car park entrance
⬅️ Exit remains via the new multistory car park exit only
Phase 3 (weeks 10–12)
🚶 All pedestrian routes open
🚗 Drivers: enter via main Kingsway entrance or the new multistory car park entrance
⬅️ Exit via main Kingsway exit or the new multistory car park exit
ℹ️ No through-route between the main car park and the new multistory car park entrance
FAQs
Will the car park stay open?
Yes - the car park will remain open throughout the works.
Will I still be able to get to Aldi?
Absolutely. Access will be maintained at all times, with clear signage in place.
Why is this happening?
These works are needed to ensure Aldi has the space it needs to continue serving the community in the future.
Will pedestrian routes change?
Yes, temporarily but safe alternative routes will always be available and clearly signposted.
How long will the works last?
Around 12 weeks, starting Monday 19 January.
Will there be disabled (DDA) parking available throughout the works?
Yes. Disabled parking bays will remain available throughout, located outside the former Costa unit next to Aldi.
Will parent and child parking spaces be available?
Parent and child bays will be temporarily unavailable during phases 2 and 3 of the works. The nearest alternative bays will be located by the Chester Road entrance during this time.
