An immersive screening of the iconic British film, Bend It Like Beckham is coming to Stretford town centre as part of Stretford’s Summer of Sport events programme. Taking place on Saturday 14th September from 4PM - late, the screening is being held in collaboration with create events collective Girl Gang Manchester, who have also curated an evening of activities that will run in conjunction with the screening.
The Stretford Socials are back on Saturday 7th September 12-4pm with a 'Back to School' special. Head to the town centre for our usual stellar line-up of local makers, bakers and community groups, as well as free creative activities for families. Bring the Summer holidays to a close and celebrate the return to school in the heart of the town centre.
Join us on Saturday 17th August from 12-4pm for a special FREE table tennis tournament in the heart of Stretford town centre as part of our Summer of Sport events programme. All ages and abilities welcome and equipment will be provided - just bring your competitive edge for a chance to win prizes!

The winner of Stretford town centre’s ‘Name the Square’ project has been announced as Lloyd Square - in tribute to local politician and Stretfordian Sir Tony Lloyd. The official unveiling ceremony took place on Saturday 6th July, led by Councillor Tom Ross, Leader of Trafford Council and Sir Tony Lloyd’s widow, Cllr Judith Lloyd, was also in attendance to commemorate the occasion.
Our favourite new Stretford restaurant and cafe, Bakehouse32, is opening its doors on Wednesday 10th July in a brand new location in Stretford town centre. Stretford’s newest eatery, located right in the heart of the town centre, will initially open for daytime service only from Wednesday through ‘til Sunday.
After receiving over 400 entries, the Stretford town centre team have announced the three shortlisted entries for the ‘Naming the Square’ competition.
