Makers Market Stretford | Sunday 3rd May, 11-4pm
The Makers Market returns to take over Stretford town centre on Sunday 3rd May, 11-4pm. Head over for a day filled with local traders, entertainment and community atmosphere.
Our favourite community event is back this weekend on 4th March 12-4pm. Created in conjunction with local Stretford company Playmaker events, we will be featuring a whole host of fabulously independent community traders, offering goodies to be enjoyed by the whole family.
The SQ café space will be returning as a dedicated kids area, where children can enjoy the FREE arts & crafts that are on offer all whilst enjoying a brew and a slice of homemade cake.
Stretford superstar bakers Beattie's Bakery will be serving up their homemade brownies, blondie, cookies, and cakes. Other traders selling delightful desserts include Sarah’s Scrummy Sweets & Personalised Gifts.
Other stalls for the March Stretford Socials include:
Cocoon Gifts - Local Stretford mum of three who is at the beginning of her small business journey, creating eco friendly gifts, crafts and party bags.
Debz D-Litez - Selling handmade scented candles made from soy and paraffin wax
DLC Gifts - Making one off decorations and special bespoke designs. All pieces are completely one of a kind and handmade.
Hayley Dean designs - Local artist who produces colourful personalised artwork and art prints all designed and produced by herself.
Linda’s Creative Crafts and Home Decor - Selling homemade trinkets for the home.
Positive Vibes - Handmade crochet hanging rainbows and other adorable items.
Maddie’s Masterpieces - Custom designed keyrings and more.
The Stretford Socials have been created with the community at their heart - and the events are a great chance to learn more about all the brilliant things taking place in the area. Self-funded voluntary groups including Stretford in Bloom, Longford Park Community Allotment, who grow and harvest fresh fruit and vegetables, and Longford Park Pets Corner, who look after a number of animals within Longford Park, will all be at the event showcasing their work and looking for new recruits.
Any local businesses that would like to get involved in the next Stretford Socials event please contact placemakerevents@outlook.com.
Whether you’re on the hunt for a thoughtful gift, looking for something free to do with the kids, want to learn how to brighten up your garden or just fancy hanging out with a brew and a slice of cake, the Stretford Socials are the family friendly hub where everyone is welcome.

Next up in Stretford's Unofficial Museum we have an exhibition all about the M60, and how it impacts our local communities. At its heart, this exhibition invites people to pause and reconsider the urban spaces they usually move through without a second thought.
This exhibition looks back at Nite School's absolutely iconic era 2025 the mall - the nights that turned a closed down pawnbrokers into a dancefloor and injected new levels into Stretford’s nightlife. And that’s including the legendary Boots rave with Bicep.
